• Bakuchiol is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory active ingredient from bakuchiol seeds that targets wrinkles and skin aging. Bakuchiol is a meroterpene, obtained from the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), predominant in East Asia. Psoralea corylifolia, commonly known as babchi, is a popular herb used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for its magical effects and to cure various skin diseases. Chinese and Indian medical experts have used bakuchiol for years to relieve several skin conditions and treat wounds. The plant is also studied in pharmacology for its chemoprotective, antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Bakuchiol is a real alternative to retinol because it has no negative side effects. Bakuchiol can be used during the day and is better tolerated by the skin than retinol. It has the same effects as retinol without the drawbacks. It stimulates key anti-aging genes, for example those for binding and metabolizing retinoids. It is also an antioxidant, a collagen stimulator and an inhibitor of lipoperoxidation.

• Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid present in high concentrations in citrus fruits, including lemon, orange and grapefruit. Hesperidin is antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, healing, whitening and improves microcirculation.

• Natural alpha-bisabolol is a major constituent of chamomile, which has been used in traditional European medicines for hundreds of years. Chamomile essential oil contains up to 50% alpha-bisabolol. Alpha-bisabolol has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties, as well as antibacterial effects. Specifically, it is a potent inhibitor of mold, Candida albicans and gram-positive bacteria.
